As of 1 December 2020, Pieter Kuijt (54) is going to start as Director at NNVO. He will succeed Lilian Biber, whose employment officially ended on 1 September 2020. Johan van Breda has recently worked as Director ad interim. Kuijt is commissioned to continue the professionalisation of NNVO, to make the VTS training more flexible and to further prepare for the future the Nautical Curricular Strands.
Pieter Kuijt: “I really look forward to this challenging position in an attractive, relatively small organisation. It’s a dedicated group of professionals that are working at NNVO, and I very much like to work with them. I see opportunities for broadening the nautical training portfolio and to expand the market position of NNVO. There are still a lot of digital opportunities, both for our own training courses and in the sector. I look forward to inspiring people and to set the direction for the organisation. It is very important that at doing this, we work closely together with directors, participants and other stakeholders to ensure that we uphold the quality. Apart from that, I would like to take an NNVO training course myself, in order to better understand wat is taking place. I am a sailor myself and have a great affinity with the water.”
